Metal Sculptures

I begin working in metal in 2007, learning to weld was a happy accident. My son wanted be and civil engineer, I thought that he should learn to weld as a skill. We both joined a welding class at a night schoo and proceded to learn to weld. Having access to scrap metal throught my work, i brought some in to "experiment" as part of our practice time. A couple of zaps later and I had made a metal dragon fly. The start of another great creative adventure. And yes my son did go on and become a civil engineer.

My wife surpised me with a small welder at Christmas and I have been using it ever since to weld, found and scrap metal into my creations. For some sculptures I allow to rust to generate a great patina, and others i will spray with a laquer to preserve the metalic finish..

My metal sculptures have ranged is size from 6" x 6" x 12" all the way up to 30' long and 8' high. Click on the images to make them bigger
